Getting Ready For Your Labor Day Pool Party

happy labor day message featuring dog and american flag

Are you hosting a Labor Day party this year? We are all dreaming of an endless summer but since it is coming to an end let's do it right by hosting the last big pool party of the season! While there are many things to consider, we know making memories takes preparation and a lot of effort. To make it easier for you, our complete Labor Day Pool Party Guide has everything you need to get in one more big splash before the leaves start falling.

Cleaning

Use a skimmer net to remove leaves, bugs, and other debris from your pool water’s surface. This should be done regularly leading up to your pool party.

To handle dirt, sand, and debris that has settled at the bottom of your pool, using a pool vacuum is recommended. Want to save yourself prep time for your party? Use an automatic pool cleaner that you can just drop in the pool for a clean floor and walls without the extra work!

Check Equipment

Checking your filter before your party is important to see that it is working efficiently at cleaning particles in your water. If you have a sand and or DE filter, backwash it to remove any accumulated debris.

Check your pool pump to make sure it is circulating properly to distribute your pool chemicals evenly throughout your swimming pool.

Ensure that your guests can enter and exit your backyard pool safely by checking your pool ladders and steps. If you need an upgrade, ordering before your Labor Day Pool Party is essential.

Prep & Balance Water

Testing and balancing the pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and calcium hardness levels are important before you have your party. Use a pool testing kit to test your water. Here are the recommended levels for balanced pool water:

Entertainment & Activities

Set up pool games and pool floats for lounging and fun. Playing a game of pool volleyball is super fun and can involve many guests! Wanna shoot some hoops? Playing with a poolside basketball hoop is an easy way to get guests involved in some pool activities. Looking for some underwater fun? Having accessories such as goggles and pool masks allow you to explore your pool!
